Noms Privacy Policy

Information you provide

Noms uses the household details and preferences you enter to plan dinners: household size, portions, cooking schedule, budget, kitchen equipment, food preferences, dietary restrictions, allergies, ZIP code, and preferred grocery stores. We also process your meal plans, recipe choices, grocery lists, pantry items, and changes you make to them. Dietary and allergy information can be sensitive; provide only what you want Noms to use for planning.

When you sign in, we process account identifiers and information supplied by your sign-in provider, such as your name or email address when shared. When you contact support, we receive your message, reply email, and associated app and diagnostic information.

Information collected through use

The app uses installation and account identifiers to associate your preferences and plans with your session. Technical information can include IP addresses, device and operating-system details, app version, request logs, errors, and feature interactions. PostHog supports app analytics to help us understand usage and improve Noms. If you enable notifications, we process a device push token and notification preferences to deliver them through Apple.

Store search uses Apple MapKit to look up grocery stores near the ZIP code you enter. That search sends the ZIP-code query to Apple; it does not require access to your device’s precise location.

Website visits

Our hosting provider processes technical request information, such as your IP address, requested pages, browser information, and access times, to deliver and protect the website. The current Noms website does not include advertising trackers, a newsletter signup, or an app analytics integration. App preferences are not collected simply by visiting this website. External links, including App Store links, take you to services with their own privacy policies.

How we use information

We use information to provide and personalize meal planning, maintain your saved information, authenticate sessions, manage subscription access, deliver requested notifications, answer support requests, diagnose problems, prevent abuse, improve the service, and meet legal obligations. Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on providing the service you request, legitimate interests in operating and securing it, legal obligations, or your consent, depending on the activity.

Service providers and sharing

We use providers for hosting, data storage, authentication, analytics, purchases, and notifications. Integrations include Clerk for sign-in, PostHog for app analytics, Superwall for paywalls and subscription experiences, and Apple for App Store purchases, store search, and push notifications. These services process the information needed for their functions.

For subscriptions, we process purchase identifiers and subscription or entitlement status. Apple handles payment details entered for App Store purchases; Noms does not receive your full payment-card number from Apple.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect people or the service, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or transfer of the business, subject to applicable privacy protections.

Storage, retention, and security

Information may be stored on your device and on systems operated by us or our providers, including in countries other than where you live. Privacy laws in those countries may differ. Applicable legal requirements govern international transfers.

We retain information for as long as needed to provide the service and for legitimate support, security, transaction, and legal needs. Retention depends on the type of information and why it is held; there is no single retention period for all records. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or de-identify it. Backup copies may remain until they are replaced through the backup lifecycle. No storage or transmission method is completely secure.

Your choices and privacy requests

You can update preferences through the app’s available controls and turn off notifications in iPhone Settings. To request access, correction, or deletion of your information, or to ask about analytics choices, contact f@fridaylunchstudios.com. We may need to verify that a request relates to your information. Uninstalling the app does not itself delete information held on our servers, and a deletion request does not cancel an App Store subscription; manage subscriptions in your Apple account settings.

Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to receive a portable copy, object to or restrict certain processing, withdraw consent, or complain to your local data protection authority. Withdrawing consent does not affect earlier lawful processing. Some records may need to be retained to comply with law, resolve disputes, or prevent fraud. Contact us to exercise applicable rights or ask about a response to your request.

Children’s information

Noms is designed for people managing household meals, not for children to submit personal information independently. Household planning may include portions and preferences for children. If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate authorization, contact us so we can investigate and address it.

Changes and contact
